Ecological data for planning applications

It is common practice for planning applications to be supported by ecological reports.
In most cases ecological reports will need to require a desk-based study, which usually includes records obtained from the local environmental record centre.

If ecological consultants or developers do not include a data search from us in their planning application, this may cause delays whilst the Planning Team request the data themselves.

The importance of data searches

Ecological data searches are needed to support planning applications so that the applications can meet industry guidance, legislation and planning policy such as:

Bat data only searches

Due to demand from customers, we offer bat only data searches.

These searches are only likely to be suitable for a small number of small-scale, householder planning applications such as loft conversions or extensions affecting the existing roof space. However, they're unlikely to be needed for the majority of planning applications.
