Submit your wildlife records

We encourage people to get involved with recording wildlife and geology.
We are interested in all records, so please do not assume that we already know about wildlife in your area.

Before you start

You may find it useful to view our advice on:

  • how to start recording wildlife
  • how to identify wildlife

You should also read the terms and conditions before submitting records.

How to submit records

You can submit records to us either:

  • Online via iRecord (we can access data on iRecord)
  • by filling out one of our downloadable forms and sending it by email or post
  • by calling us on 01296 382 431

Online recording

Due to advances in technology, there are now a variety of websites and databases that you can upload your records to.

As you gain more experience, you may prefer some over others.

Some are specific to certain groups such as butterflies or birds and others only ask you to upload data specific to a certain county or region.

Groups and schemes

Some wildlife groups have established recording schemes that then send their data to us. If you are aware or familiar with one in your area, you may wish to send your records to them.
